2025 Boys Chooch Award: Ben Weir

Ben Weir, senior captain of the Roswell Hornets, is the 2025 male recipient of the Chooch Award. Ben has been a driving force in the Roswell lacrosse program for eight years, serving as a Senior Team Captain and spending 3 years on varsity. A key leader during an unprecedented three-peat state championship run, Ben’s impact on the field is undeniable earning him a place in Roswell’s Century Club with 133 career points and  cementing his role in one of the program’s most successful eras.

Off the field, Ben is equally committed to his community. He volunteers with Roswell Youth Lacrosse, serves through Roswell United Methodist Church’s youth group, supports teen league basketball, and gives his time to a boxer rescue organization. Academically, he maintains a 96 GPA and is a six-time Principal’s Honor Roll recipient.

This fall, Ben will continue his academic and athletic career at Queens University of Charlotte, playing Division I lacrosse. His leadership, work ethic, and service make him a truly deserving recipient of the Chooch Award. Congratulations, Ben and go, Royals!
