2026 Marco Scholarship Male Winner - Nicky Szedon

The 2026 male Marco Scholarship has been awarded to Nicky Szedon, a senior at Roswell High School.

Nicky has been playing lacrosse since kindergarten, building a 12-year connection to the game that has shaped him as both a teammate and a leader. A dedicated midfielder for Roswell, Nicky earned 2026 All-State Honorable Mention recognition and has continued to represent the Hornets with toughness, commitment, and pride.

But what stands out most about Nicky is the way he carries that leadership beyond the field.

He serves as Co-President of STAR House Club, where he mentors students in after-school programs, helps with homework, plays with the kids, recruits volunteers, and coordinates with STAR House staff. He is also Vice President of Fundraising for the UGA Heroes Club at Roswell, helping organize initiatives that benefit children affected by HIV, including food drives, fundraising nights, and a 5K with 60 runners.

Nicky has also given back through youth lacrosse coaching, Operation Christmas Child, Meals by Grace, and other service efforts with his Roswell lacrosse teammates.

In the classroom, Nicky has been just as impressive. He holds a 3.97 GPA, has earned President’s Honor Roll with Highest Distinction, received the UGA Georgia Certificate of Merit, was named an AP Scholar with Distinction, and is an AP Capstone Candidate.

This fall, Nicky will attend the University of Georgia, where he plans to major in Mechanical Engineering and continue playing club lacrosse.
