2026 Marco Scholarship Female Winner - Sophia Hortman

Congratulations to Sophia Hortman, our 2026 Female Marco Scholarship Winner!

Sophia is a senior at Lassiter High School and one of the most accomplished players in the state. A 3x USA Lacrosse All-American, she has built an incredible lacrosse resume over 11 years in the sport.

This season, Sophia was named Draw Specialist of the Year and First Team All-State. Her impact on the field speaks for itself: 300 draw controls, 112 goals, 23 assists, 64 ground balls, and 29 caused turnovers. She was also selected to participate in the DiVarsity All-Star Game.

A multi-sport athlete, Sophia has also competed in girls basketball and plays club lacrosse for Atlanta Storm Blue.

This fall, Sophia will attend James Madison University, where she will continue her lacrosse career at the Division I level.

Sophia’s talent, work ethic, and dedication to the game make her an outstanding representative of the values Coach Marco stood for. We’re honored to support her journey and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.
